Microsoft Access Database Applications

1.  U.S. Government

A.      Scheduling 

1.    Schedules arriving / departing personnel, ensuring all required paperwork is received and processed.

2.    Statistical information is provided through various search capabilities and reports providing numbers and percentages.

B.     Departmental Logistics Ordering

1.    Material ordering database system, tracking individual items, quantities, cost, and totals. 

2.    Integrated with departmental budget information which provides continuously current budget accounting / usage data in the form of reports.

C.     Equipment Tracking & Maintenance History

1.    Equipment database, tracking location, maintenance due dates, maintenance history. Provides inventory control through use of various reports.

D.     Inventory Control

1.    Although I did not create this application, I designed and installed a major upgrade that turned this database into a highly effective, informative tool combining both materials received with materials issued (by item and distinct lot numbers).  Current totals information is provided for each entry of information and available in an array of various reports.

 

2.  Guest Services, Inc.

A.     Employee Information / Payroll Timekeeping

1.    Employee information that integrates imbedded payroll schedules to ensure current information is used both in displaying employee information and in calculating payroll figures in the payroll database.

2.    Payroll schedules are updated at a click of a button.

3.    Information is merged as necessary into MS Word documents to reduce inputting repetitive information.

B.     Payroll Submission & Analysis

1.    An individual database with a primary link to the Employee Information database.

2.    Payroll database designed to track normal hours worked as well as; overtime hours/costs, vacation time, sick time, holidays, leave without pay, etc.

3.    Immediate updating / calculation of vacation/sick time provide “excessive usage” information to managers.

4.    All applicable information is provided by way of a payroll reports showing individual/departmental/overall totals as necessary.

5.    A unique feature provides annual payroll budget projections, reducing to minutes a task requiring 16 – 24 hours to complete manually for each budget year.

 

3.   H. S. Hofler & Sons Lumber Company 

A.     Custom Lumber Invoicing  application

1.    Provide unique solutions for the lumber industry to ensure all possible types of invoicing are accomplished within the same database application.

2.    Integrated invoicing database with other outside factors to provide monthly “industry required” report information.

3.    Other report information includes outstanding and delinquent invoices.

4.    Extensive error control provided to ensure proper formatting of each invoice.

 

4.  Coburn Forest Products, LLC

A.     Lumber Settlement Tracking application

1.    Tracks individual timber shipments to lumber company.

2.    Adjusts for lumber company culls/reductions

3.    Automatically calculates funds due to loggers, land owners and timber rights owners.

 

5.      Atlantic Anesthesia, Inc.

A.     Medical Procedure Tracking Application

1.    Tracks outcome of anesthesia procedures based on various “Teams”.

2.    All reports are in the form of bar or pie charts.

3.    Statistical information tracked refer to the outcome of procedures or numbers and type of procedure performed by doctor, anesthesiologist, teams, specific outcome or specific procedure; as individual or collective procedure results.

 

6.      South Mill Water Association, Inc.

A.     Monthly Water Billing Application

1.    Handles monthly water bills, payments, credits, etc.

2.    Maintains customer history over life of their accounts.

3.    Utilizes external programs for automatic reading of water meters.

4.    Automatically imports / exports meter readings / route numbers.

5.    Maintains history of changes to each customer account.

6.    Incorporates a “Work Order” application for issuing work orders for individual service locations.

1.      Maintains general ledger entries compiling accounts receivable, payable, losses, deposits, expenditures, payroll, etc.

1.      Guest Services, Inc.

A.     Time Off (Vacation / Sick Leave) template.

1.    Users could not change the format or layout

2.    Administrative office version utilized associated employee database to allow drop-down box selection of employee name vs. typing name each time.

B.     Trucking / Tractor Trailer / Driver Assignment Template.

1.    Users could not change the format or layout

2.    Document utilized locked fields and dropdown boxes for selection of specific vehicle information which could only be changed in the associated MS Access database.

 

2.      South Side Court Reporting, Inc.

A.     Court Transcript Template

1.    A heavily programmed MS Word template that automatically formatted margins, headers, footers, page numbers to conform to specific section of court transcription documents.

2.    Automatic completion of several sections of each document utilizing individual input messages to prepare document for a specific case write-up.
